Course Overview

This 10-hour Georgia training focuses on health and safety practices in childcare settings. The course explores prevention and control of infectious diseases, immunization, safe sleep practices to reduce the risk of sudden infant death syndrome, and proper administration of medication. It also covers prevention of and response to emergencies related to food and allergic reactions, as well as building and physical premises safety.

Additional topics include prevention of shaken baby syndrome and abusive head trauma, emergency preparedness and response planning for natural disasters or threatening incidents, handling and storage of hazardous materials, proper disposal of bio-contaminants, and precautions for transporting children. The training also includes recognition and reporting of child abuse and neglect, along with child development.
